Edmonton

From Sulphur Well, we drove to Edmonton (route 68) and stopped in the town center to photograph several sites. Mary K. and Julie joined us there, and we admired the restored county courthouse (where George Al Edwards shot the deputy, and -- according to some versions of the story -- the body of the victim fell down the staircase and rolled into a courtroom while court was in session.) The historic courthouse had closed at noon, so we were not able to go inside. A new justice center has been constructed in the northeast corner of the square.
