H.S. and Mary Clark moved from Kentucky to Cass County, IL, in January 1921 to a farm owned by Edgar Anderson (this place was later known as the Webster farm.) They lived at the Webster place from February to September 1921, and H.S. worked as a hired hand for Edgar. Robert was born in this tenant house. They then moved to a house the family called "the Washington place" and lived there until 1926. From the Washington place, they moved to the house "on the hard road" (current-day Route 78, near the Cass-Morgan county line.) The house on the hard road was built by Charlie Beckum. On September 1, 1933, the Clark family moved to an acreage 2 miles west of Arenzville. The property was owned by Charlotte Hart but was known as the "Zahn farm." According to Bob (J. Robert) Clark, his grandfather (H.S. Clark) purchased "the Dahman farm," ( on December 17, 1938. The sale was held at the town hall in Arenzville. The Dahman farm is where John and Lois and later Ralph and Jeane Clark resided.

He is the youngest of four sons and five daughters (eight of whom lived to be grown), born to Edward and Malinda (Cox) Hamilton." Also from Battle et al.: "Dr. Hamilton was reared on a farm, and was educated at Edmonton. He commenced the study of medicine when eighteen, with Dr. Benjamin Taylor, of Bridgeport. In [the] winter of 1881-82 attended lectures at Louisville. He located at Sulphur Well in 1884, where he purchased a home and commenced the practice of his profession. He returned to the old homestead in January 1885, where he will continue the practice."

         At the age of 21, Edward Fayette married Lula G. Fraser on Wednesday, April 30, 1884, in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, USA, when she was 21 years old. They had four daughters.

         Lula G. was born in Kentucky, USA, on Wednesday, November 19, 1862. She was the daughter of Lewis Hipkins Fraser and Mary Jane Doolin. She was also known as Greenie.
