Beyond the Pale

Photo Gallery - Ireland 2016

Sister DeLourdes Fahy, during our brief stop at the Kiltartan Gregory Museum, treated us to a reading of an excerpt from one of Yeats's poems, The Tower, in which he refers to "a peasant beauty" who had been immortalized in a song. Sister noted that an earlier song by Anthony Raferty (1784-1835), An Pabhsae Gleigeal, was in praise of Mary Hynes. Click here to read more about Raftery and Mary Hynes.
